Happy New Year!

Our first meeting after Christmas and a lot of catching up to do.  There was a lot of crochet, cutting and stitching in progress.
 
We also got to welcome a new member - Em, welcome to the group! 
 
Sharon J. gave Pat several beautiful quilts for the shop window display - sorry the correspondent failed to take those photos!
 
Joy was also able to show her beautiful embroidery- Kaleidoscope



Sharon B. and Joy were both modelling handmade clothing items which looked fantastic.


We also took delivery of 4 full black sacks - yes 4 - full of fabric which was kindly donated by a lovely lady called Wendy.  Everyone had a good rummage - resistance was futile! 


Pat spoke to the group about Penny Rug quilts - check them out on Pinterest.

Dates for your Diary:


21st January – trip to Barleylands to see the Minerva Exhibition. All to meet in the Tiptree Tea room at 10:30am.


24th January - 10am - 4pm - Workshop Day - £5 - bring your own projects and lunch.  Pat may come up with some ideas (as she does!).  Or you can have fun with felt circles (see above!).

 Only a few of us today - we missed those who couldn’t make it.  It was nice to catch up and see what everyone had been working on. The Allotment group quilt is now complete.  There was much discussion about the best way to quilt it to really bring the produce to life.  Watch this space. Sandy and Val have been working on this William Morris quilt.  Val had sewn all the pieces together - and Sandy hand quilted it.  Yes - HAND QUILTED!!   The back is a work of art as much as the front. Sharon had made this beautiful purse/bag - which had lovely Japanese inspired fabric for the lining. She was also working on a couple of summer skirts.  Hopefully she’ll be modelling one at the next meet up. Sandy had also been working on her basket quilt.  But she’d got bored of baskets and had branched out into flowers and hearts.  It’s going to look amazing when it’s all put together. Patchwork Pals Meeting 1st August 2025

  1st of August.  How did that happen?  A really busy group met on Friday - there was lots to share. Joy- what a beautiful cardigan.  Love the bobbles!  Sharon was enhancing a dress she already has:  Marillyn had lots to share-  Not only these beautiful cross-body bags: She was also able to share this beautiful baby record book: Here are the layers: Jenny was working on this very jolly Father Christmas  Juliet was working on this stunner- wish it was in my size!  Germaine was working on something mysterious with a Pomegranate...more to be revealed next month and the result in January at Barleylands.
