SWF Patchwork Pals - Friday 6 June 2025

Only a few of us today - we missed those who couldn’t make it.  It was nice to catch up and see what everyone had been working on.

The Allotment group quilt is now complete.  There was much discussion about the best way to quilt it to really bring the produce to life.  Watch this space.

Sandy and Val have been working on this William Morris quilt.  Val had sewn all the pieces together - and Sandy hand quilted it.  Yes - HAND QUILTED!!

The back is a work of art as much as the front.

Sharon had made this beautiful purse/bag - which had lovely Japanese inspired fabric for the lining. She was also working on a couple of summer skirts.  Hopefully she’ll be modelling one at the next meet up.

Sandy had also been working on her basket quilt.  But she’d got bored of baskets and had branched out into flowers and hearts.  It’s going to look amazing when it’s all put together.

Germaine made a start on her Bayeux tapestry-inspired piece.  Not sure it’s going to be 70 metres long or take quite as long to finish as the original.  Will post progress pictures next month.

Joy was carrying on with her rainbow embroidery piece and Jenny was working away on her Firebird cross stitch.   Pat was just keeping us all in check!!
