SWF Patchwork Pals - Wednesday 28 February 2024

Not many at this month's gathering but those that were there still had a great time with lots of crafting going on. Pat Harvey gave Pat Robson a lesson in Teddy bear making!  Although Pat R was told off for not reading the pattern!  Had to laugh! Pat Harvey’s teddy bear is the purple one and the spotty one is Pat Robson’s "teddy in the progress"!   You have may have seen  Sue Edwards "Goldwork Seahorse" in previous posts but it's coming along a treat.  Won’t be long before it’s finished - we'll be sure to post pictures in future Blogs. Joy finished off her Ironing Mat Bag and actually managed to fold it in the right places!  Well done Joy! This Group could do with some more members - so if you're free on a Wednesday, why not pop along to the WI Hall in Guys Farm Road to see what's going on.  Dates on future meetings are on the blog.

Happy Valentine's Day Pat would like to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day! The Saturday Group had a productive morning Our other Pat was busy hand quilting her latest project and nearly got it finished. Our newest member, Sharon, made good progress on her Besty Bear - and got some guidance from Pat Harvey.  There's always someone there to lend a hand and show you the ropes. Pat Robson’s mushroom pin cushion complete with fairy door!   She also brought along her other animals – an elephant, daschund and a swan! In "Hexie Corner" Julia and Kate were working on their geometry.  Gill was laying out her "Storm at Sea" project ready to be stitched together. Pat Robson was "Spaced Out" over her cushion cover which includes a variety of different techniques including the beautiful sunray style border and reverse applique.

It was so nice to meet up again this morning – and what a productive day it was. Firstly, it was Val’s “special” birthday – so we celebrated with a sewing inspired cake.  Michele brought her Sizzix machine so lots of die cutting took place.  We look forward to seeing those made into future projects.   Last month, Sharon was in the assembly phase, and we’re pleased to report that “Clementina” has now been completed.   Hopefully, she’ll have some outfits shortly.   She’s from the Luna Lapin’s Friends book by Sarah Peel. We also welcomed two new members – Joyce and Karen.  Joyce brought along a cross stitch project and Karen was doing some knitting (which narrowly avoided getting covered in tea – sorry Karen!) Joy came with some interesting Angelina fibers which are heat-bondable and can be used in a variety of projects, including her amazing mixed media.   The group is a great place to share different techniques and ideas and there’s alwa...
