SWF Patchwork Pals - Saturday 13 December 2025

Image
We turned out in force on Saturday for the last meeting of 2025.  A lovely lunch with mince pies and coffee, enjoyed by all!  Didn’t get pictures of everyone’s work as not all were in a state for photographing, being “Works In Progress”! Marleen was having fun with her dolls dress, whilst having a bit of a problem with the number of stitches.  Hopefully, she now has it sorted! Carole was playing with this Spring Rainy Day picture, ready for our next Trail? Sue Edwards was working on a new Crewel Embroidery project, it’s looking lovely already! Sheila is working on Dogs in Sweaters, can’t wait to see it finished! Gill has put this part of her project together.  Not sure how many of them there are or if she is building on this one - watch this space! Anne was making this beautiful table runner.  She’s hoping to shorten it as it’s too long for her table. Rachel is putting all those hexagons together, all by hand!  Mammoth task, but she is winning and it’s look...

We had Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen - but do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all!?!?   Today was all about the reindeer - with a few Santas, horses and a random donkey/camel thrown in for good measure.  Well done to everyone who made one - they look fantastic.  Joy finished her colourful embroidery piece.  She’s going to frame it - and then decide what she’s going to work on next. Marillyn brought in a couple of projects that she’s been working on - they are spectacular as always. Sharon B was cutting out a very interesting and challenging fabric to make a skirt - look forward to seeing that in the New Year.  Sharon J was knitting things for her wreath.  Jenny was finishing up some crocheted ornaments.  Michele and Pat were in deep Sizzix discussions.   Juliet was knitting up a storm.   We followed our crafting morning with our Christmas lunch - which was delicious as always. ...

We had a lot of completed “show and tell” items this month.  Lots were for the “I Spy Trail” that takes place on Sat 22 November around SWF when the Xmas lights are turned on.  The I Spy Trail items will be going into different shops and a leaflet is being made up for those on the hunt! Sue Edwards has finally managed to frame all her Spring, Summer, Autum and Winter embroideries.  They look absolutely fabulous and so realistic, a true work of Art!  Julie finished her workshop cushion, 90 degree triangles.  It looks brilliant and so cheerful!  Julie has decorated a pair of wellies with patchwork ready for part of the I Spy trail!  They look such fun. Pat Robson did these boots!  Took a lot longer than expected, but again, great fun (although Pat did get very sticky fingers!) Pat has had her Cockerill framed, such an unusual frame, but so effective with gold distressing on the edges too.  Love the lock, key and hinges, brilliant touch!  T...

A busy, busy Saturday including a new lady who came along to check us out (welcome Rachel)!  She did promise to come back again and she did bring us sweeties! Bless! These are Sharon’s make up bags – not sure how many these make her tally up to, but she’s had a bee in her bonnet with her new machine. This is Sue Edwards Log Cabin quilt.  Notice the red heart embroidered in the red square which is classed as the “Hearth”.  We think she is going to use it as part of her new ruler bag. This is Kate’s embroidery, it’s coming along nicely!   Joy made one of Pat’s Dala Horses, not to be undertaken lightly!  It is complicated to sew in the correct order, but it came out OK! This is Joy’s Liquorice Allsort big cushion, ready for her teenage Grandson. This is Julie’s scrap baby quilt which I think she is donating to a good cause. Our new lady Rachel is intent on making 400 hexagons, I think she has a few to go!!   This is Jenny’s herd of reindeer, growing daily by ...
